Andreas Liveras, Much Beloved Icon of Yacht Charter Industry Killed in Terorist Attacks of Mumbai

The announcement that Liveras Yachts sent to YV&C - International Yacht Vacations and Charters Magazine publisher Fuat Kircaali on Friday, November 28, 2008, 9:00am New York time reads:
Announcement Relating to the Death of Andreas Liveras
"It is with much regret that Liveras Yachts must announce the death of our Chairman Andreas Liveras who was killed during the terrorist attacks which have been taking place in Mumbai over the last 24 hours. Not only was Andreas one of the great entrepreneurs and characters of the yachting business; he was also a much loved and respected father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him. Andreas’s family extend their thanks to all of those who have sent messages of sympathy and support, they are greatly appreciated."

(September 21, 2005, Monaco) - Andreas Liveras of Liveras Yachts with Carmen Gonzalez and Robyn Forma of International Yacht Vacations & Charters Magazine, the first day of 15th Annual Monaco Yacht Show. Liveras is holding the current issue of YV&C, which has an exclusive article on P/Y Annaliesse.
On Friday morning Edmiston Yachts of Monaco also made this announcement:

"Following the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai, we can confirm that five Edmiston personnel who were in Mumbai during the attacks are safe and well.
“Edmiston had been hosting an event in Mumbai onboard Andreas Liveras's yacht Alysia, and it is with profound sadness and regret that he was confirmed as being killed by terrorists yesterday morning.
"Andreas was a close personal friend and a wonderful person with whom to do business. Always straightforward, honest and generous, he was a bon viveur to the last. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Liveras family.
“Four of our team flew home last night and arrived in London this morning. Nicholas Edmiston remains in Mumbai and will be flying home with the body of Andrea Liveras at the earliest opportunity.
“On behalf of the entire company, we thank everyone who has sent words of support and best wishes."
YV&C publisher Fuat Kircaali said, "We learned the terrible news Friday morning following the despicable terrorist attacks in Mumbai. We will miss Andreas and his greater-than-life personality. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Liveras family."
